Streak busted: The Cavs (13-8) lost for the first time in nine games.

Cavs Nation was able to exhale, though, once Irving came out for second-half warmups. He played in the third and fourth quarters with no ill-affects.
Irving scored a team-high 20 but required 21 shots to get there. He also led the Cavs in assists (six) and steals (two).
Make no mistake: Irving having returned to the game is much more important in the grand scheme than the Cavs having lost -- streak or no streak. That would have been the case even if the Cavs had succumbed to the Philadelphia 76ers.
14-minute fizzle: The Cavs were outscored, 31-19, in the third quarter to fall behind, 78-66. Their issues continued into the first two minutes of the fourth quarter, after which Oklahoma City held an 86-66 advantage.
Scratching and clawing: The Cavs rallied enough to make Oklahoma City coach Scott Brooks nervous. Brooks called timeout with two minutes remaining after Tristan Thompson's putback pulled the Cavs within 95-91.
Durantula takes over: Durant carried his team to the finish line.
Coming out of the timeout, Durant capitalized on a switch and dunked for a 97-91 lead. Irving committed a turnover (Durant was credited with the steal). Fifteen seconds later, Durant sank a fadeaway jumper over Irving to make it 99-91 with 1:16 left.

Durant scored his team's last eight points and finished with 19 in 30 minutes.
GPS desperately needed: The Cavs lost primarily because they couldn't shoot worth a 10-day contract. They went 31-of-85 (36.5 percent) from the field and 23-of-30 from the line.
With four minutes remaining in the third quarter, the Cavs were 18-of-58 from the field. Through three, they were 22-of-65 (33.8 percent).
The Thunder played quality defense, especially in the interior. They amassed 11 blocks and intimidated the Cavs into not taking numerous shots. But the Cavs also misfired countless times from all over the court despite decent-to-good looks.
Only Matthew Dellavedova (5-of-8) and Thompson (4-of-8) shot 50 percent or better.
Dellavedova started at off-guard in the LeBron-less lineup, with Shawn Marion shifting to small forward. Cleveland starters not named Dellavedova combined to shoot 17-of-51.
Oklahoma City was 38-of-87 (43.7 percent) from the floor. It held decisive advantages in fastbreak points (21-7) and paint points (48-28).

Too hot to handle: The Cavs had few answers for Westbrook, who scored a game-high 26 on 12-of-24 shooting in 36 minutes. He had eight assists and seven rebounds.
